Voyage of Discovery 2-Page 16
LISBON, Portugal |

| This was another "first" for Anne and I neither of us having been there before. We were intrigued with the "noisy bridge", a suspension bridge, over the river. The noise is caused by vehicles driving over the steel, not tarmac, roadway. Approaching the bridge we could hear the racket a mile away and of course it got louder the nearer we came to it, reaching the loudest as we passed beneath the bridge. We did a half-day tour of Lisbon and surrounds, and then went walking in the city afterwards. This is another place that warrants a second visit sometime. It was also our last port of call before arriving back in Harwich, some three days away., after an extremely nice four weeks at sea for me, and two weks for Anne spent in a nice comfortable cabin. Here's to the next cruise...... | ||
